Killer Instinct for Xbox One adds Chief Thunder

Chief Thunder has been confirmed for Killer Instinct and he's received quite the visual makeover.

He was teased at Evo 2013, and now Chief Thunder is officially stepping out of the shadows to join the Killer Instinct roster. While the dual tomahawks were pretty much a dead giveaway, they didn't quite reveal the extent to which the Native American warrior would be completely reimagined.

A behind-the-scenes video from IGN reveals Chief Thunder's new look, showing him as a more fearsome face-painted warrior. The changes will extend beyond the character model, as Thunder will be positioned as more of a close-range grappler, as opposed to the quicker-hitting version of the character that some remember from the original Super NES classic. He will, however, retain many of his specials from the original game.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
