NBA 2K14 bringing back Crew mode
2K Sports has outlined some of the features to expect in NBA 2K14, including the return of the Crews mode from NBA 2K11.
NBA 2K14 is starting out as a current-gen release, with PlayStation 4 and Xbox One releases following sometime later. That doesn't mean that it's stagnating, though, as 2K has outlined some of the new features we can expect on the current-gen platforms, including the return of Crews.
2K announced today that NBA 2K14 will bring back customized 5-man Crews with your own logos and leaderboards. It will also dynamic roster that reacts to real-life hot and cold streaks, and more modes and single- and multiplayer tournaments added to MyTeam play. 2K also claims the soundtrack has been hand-picked by LeBron James, so apparently he likes Jay Z, Eminem, The Black Keys, and Daft Punk.
The announcement also promises a huge boost to the number of animations for smoother play, a simplified Pro Stick control interface, a Smart Play button to pick the best play easily, and various tweaks to the Skills, offensive and defensive controls. The Crews mode and MyTeam features are PS3 and Xbox 360 only, but the other improvements will most likely make it to the next-gen versions as well. The current-gen versions are due October 1.
