After years of silence, the sequel was revealed as a free-to-play follow-up featuring time travel and brand new plants. Originally scheduled for release earlier this year, the game was suddenly delayed--and then "soft launched" in Australia and New Zealand to test the in-game economy. And now, it's out. For real. Seriously.
It's free-to-play, so that obviously means things cost money. So, what do you pay for in PvZ2? Plants, of course. Many of the PvZ mainstays are included in the base game, including the Peashooter, Sunflower, Wall-nut, Potato Mine, and more. In fact, some of the game's new plants are free as well, including the Bonk Choy and Coconut Cannon.
However, some of the more specialized plants require paying money to unlock. For example, the Snow Pea ($2.99), the Imitater ($2.99), and Torchwood ($2.99). If only there were a $15 "unlock everything" option...
