Skulls of the Shogun coming to Steam July 29
Skulls of the Shogun is releasing on Steam next Monday, July 29, marking the first time it will be available on Windows XP-7.
17-Bit Studios promised that Skulls of the Shogun would cast off its Windows 8 shackles in late July. With only a week left to make good on that commitment, the studio has announced a just-under-the-buzzer release date of July 29 on Steam.
17-Bit announced the date on its official site. It will cost $14.99, but if you purchase soon on the Steam page you can still get the Early Access discount, which bumps it down to $11.99.
Skulls developer Borut Pfeifer was pretty harsh with Microsoft in June, expressing disappointment with the results of its exclusivity agreement. Part of that involved being exclusive to Windows 8, which means the Steam release will mark the first time Windows XP and 7 users can officially get in on the unique strategy title. It's been available through Early Access for a while, for those willing to put up with a few bugs. Check out our review of the Xbox Live Arcade version for more.
