Tekken Revolution update to add new characters, free Practice mode
An upcoming Tekken Revolution update adds two new characters, customization options, a level cap increase, and new game modes, among a host of balance changes.
Namco's free-to-play Tekken Revolution is getting a pretty sizable update by the end of this month. It will add two new characters, costumes options, and a free practice mode for beefing up your skills without spending any money.
The official patch notes (via Joystiq) details the changes. Hwoarang and Dragunov will be added as playable characters, and you will be able to customize your characters with new costumes and "Premium Effects" like a glowing fist. The level cap will also be raised from 50 to 60, and the top rank will be dubbed "Savior." You'll be able to reset your Character Enhancement Points as well, with one freebie reset and subsequent resets available for purchase.
While most modes require regularly refreshing coins that can also be purchased for real money, the new Practice mode doesn't have any such requirements of in-game currency, so you can train to your heart's content. Arcade Mode is getting two new difficulty levels, Hard and Very Hard, which gives more rewards and offers a chance to see rare enemies. These changes come alongside a host of balance adjustments as well. No date was mentioned for North America, but it should hit before the end of July.
This comes just after Namco revealed that "Female Vampire" won its fan vote for the next character, beating out strong contenders like "Salmon" and "Run-of-the-Mill Old Man."
