Adventure Time: Explore the Dungeon inspired by Diablo

Adventure Time has gained some cache among the gaming community for its loving references to nerd culture. The next video game based in the Land of Ooo, titled Adventure Time: Explore the Dungeon Because I DON'T KNOW, will continue to pay homage by aping the Diablo series--with its own surrealist twist, naturally.
Producer Aaron Blean told Polygon that it's rather large, with 100 dungeons to explore and even several selectable characters. The story revolves around Princess Bubblegum's secret dungeon. After the worst-of-the-worst monsters start escaping from it, she asks the adventurers to investigate.
So far, WayForward has only revealed that you can play as Jake, Finn, Marceline, and Cinnamon Bun, but it teases more characters to be revealed later. It will also support four-player co-op, and bosses will be designed with group dynamics in mind. For example, in a demo, the melee-focused Jake and Finn attacked a Demon Cat from the front, while Marceline absorbed the red projectiles shooting from its tail.
"We've got characters who are tanks, we've got a character who shoots projectiles, we've got melee characters and wizard-like characters, and if you play Diablo a lot you will able to spot it--you'll see the strategy and get it right away," said game director Tomm Hulett. "But if you're not into that, you can just get in there and have fun with Adventure Time."
