Angry Birds Star Wars 2 announced, coming September 19
Angry Birds Star Wars 2 is coming September 19. It will focus more on prequel characters, and let you scan in toys to the game.
Angry Birds Star Wars helped secure Rovio's bottom line last year, and now it's eager to do it again. The company has announced Angry Birds Star Wars 2, set to come out September 19.
The announcement from Rovio (via Joystiq) promises that you can "Join the Pork Side" and play as the Imperial swine. New characters include Anakin and Mace Windu, along with villains like General Grievous, Darth Maul, and Jar Jar Binks.
It will also make use of Telepods, letting you import characters from toys a la Skylanders. This leverages Rovio's ability to plaster Angry Birds everywhere, and integrate merchandise into the game. Presumably, this was just easier than making a machine that prints its own money, with the same end result.
