So this Adventure Time thing is pretty big, huh. Creator Pendleton Ward is quite a nerd, so it makes sense that his Cartoon Network franchise would stretch its paws all over video games. There's already a proper game on handheld, and a new game coming soon on console--but what if you want to make your own Adventure Time-themed game? Well, you can with the aptly-named Adventure Time Game Creator.

CartoonNetwork.com has launched a free-to-play game creator that lets players create simple 2D adventures featuring characters and props from the popular animated series. In addition, throughout July, a new hero will be added to the creator every week. Creations can then be shared in an online gallery and played by everyone.

While the creator will likely amuse young fans of the series, the resulting games aren't especially interesting. It's free and easy to access, but for older gamers, it will leave quite a bit to be desired.
