Grand Theft Auto 5 is all about money--making it and spending it. One of the main ways you'll be able to use your hard-earned cash is by customizing your cars and weapons.
You'll be able to take your cars and bikes to LS Customs, a new franchise that replaces the Pay & Spray of previous GTA games. There, you'll be able to customize body kits, paint jobs, finishes, wheels, exhaust tips, window tints, and more. In addition to the cosmetic tweaks, you'll be able to modify vehicle performance as well by adjusting the brakes, engine tuning, suspension, and more. "Some missions ask you to customize vehicles in certain ways," producer Imran Sarwar also pointed out.
There are more than a thousand modifications in total, Sarwar told Game Informer. And you can share your customized rides via Rockstar's Social Club.
Vehicles aren't the only way you can show off your personality in San Andreas. Like in the real-world Los Angeles, your guns speak a lot about who you are. Weapons can be customized with extended clips, grips, weapon tints, flashlights, scopes, and suppressors. "It's all part of broadening the range of tactical options for the player," Sarwar said.
Oh look, an excuse to re-post that trailer from earlier today:
