Warrior's Lair officially cancelled
Warrior's Lair, a showpiece for Sony's PS3/Vita cross-play functionality, has been cancelled.
Warrior's Lair, the PlayStation 3 and Vita dungeon-crawler previously known as Ruin, has officially been cancelled. While not surprising due to the game's long status in limbo, it means one less game in the PS3 and Vita slate.
"Sony Computer Entertainment can confirm that Warrior's Lair for PS Vita is no longer in development," a Sony representative told IGN. "We apologize to those who pre-ordered the title and ask that they contact their retailer directly to cancel their pre-sale." A rep subsequently confirmed to Shacknews that the PS3 version is cancelled as well.
Rumors of closure at developer Idol Minds started circulating in early 2012, and then we noted that it was a no-show at E3. It was subsequently pulled from the PlayStation site entirely. All of that didn't paint a rosy picture of the game that was once a showpiece for Sony's cross-play functionality. Of course, it was also often compared to Diablo, and the PlayStation 3 is getting a console port of Diablo 3 anyway.
