Now that Limbo is out on Vita, Playdead is planning to release on another handheld device. The studio announced today that its atmospheric platformer will hit iOS devices on July 3, for $4.99.

The announcement says they've rethought the controls and optimized for the device, but doesn't give much in the way of details on either. It does mention that you'll need an iPad 2 or higher, an iPhone 4S or higher, or the latest generation of iPod Touch.

Playdead also revealed that the game has reached 3 million in lifetime sales across all platforms. Limbo received generally positive reviews on console, so as long as the touch controls are workable it should maintain that critical (and high-selling) reputation.
