According to a report by Reuters, the game will be a free-to-play adaptation of Microsoft's popular strategy series to be developed by Japanese game maker Klab.
Speaking to Polygon, Microsoft confirmed that the game will be "initially developed in English for iOS and Android and launched globally, with plans to release the game in other languages and on Windows Phone in the future." While Reuters' original report suggests that other Microsoft franchises could be making the jump to mobile, the rep stated that "there are no further announcements beyond Age of Empires at this time."
