Sony has announced that its cloud gaming services will become available in the US first some time in 2014. The service, using Gaikai's streaming tech, will come first to PS4 and PS3 and later to Vita, and will give gamers access to a wide range of PS3 titles.

Sony purchased Gaikai in July of last year, and we speculated at the time that the service would be best used to offer some sort of backward compatibility for PS3 games. And we were right, sort of. No details regarding price have been revealed yet.

pretty sure that's the case - in their preview a while back it looked like the whole library (ps3) would eventually be streamable via this.

During the press conference they stated they would be starting with the most critically acclaimed PS3 titles for launch in 2014, no doubt expanding the library over time.

You know what would absolutely kill it for Sony? Making nearly all PS3 games free to stream on PS4. I don't know how they'd secure deals with everyone but even if they just did that with their self-published games it would be a crazy advantage.
