Skylanders Swap Force will launch on October 13, Activision announced today. In addition to the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, Wii U, and 3DS versions, Activision also confirmed it will be releasing PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions. Obviously those release dates aren't set, since we don't know when the consoles are releasing.

Polygon reports that the figure packs are beginning to take pre-orders today, likely to cut down on figure shortages once the demand ramps up. Those pre-orders will include a free Skylander at participating retailers. The starter pack for Swap Force will be $74.99, with figures costing $9.99 for standard characters or $14.99 for Swap Force characters.

The PlayStation 4 version is being being developed by Vicarious Visions, which has taken the lead development role for this edition. The Wii port is being handled by Beenox, and the 3DS version is coming from n-Space.
