The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile coming to PC
James Silva has announced that The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile is coming to PC with the help of Microsoft, in response to a fan hack to put the game on the platform.
The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile is officially coming to PC, and developer Ska Studios will be working with Microsoft to make it happen. The revelation comes after a fan had already made an unauthorized port for PC.
In a Ska blog post, Silva explains that he'd like to rework some things for the PC version, and he's been too busy to do it. He said he's "flattered" by the work of a fan port/hack, but the studio can't officially condone it. Silva concluded by saying he's met with Microsoft, and though nothing is set in stone, they can confirm they are working with the company to bring their games to the PC. That includes Vampire Smile, and presumably others like the upcoming Charlie Murder.
The unofficial port was handled by a Russian hacker going by "Barabus," who called it "restoration of justice." Silva himself seemed unconcerned, telling Eurogamer that Barabus "probably didn't mean to come across quite the way he did" with his "justice" remarks. Ska artist Michelle Juett was less charitable, calling him an "overly-entitled gamer."
