Rain (not to be confused with Heavy Rain) was one of two promising projects debuted by Sony's Japan Studio at Gamescom last year. A new story trailer released today sheds more light on the plot, and drops a release window of this fall.

So far we've only heard vague bits about ghosts and rain, but it's amazing what a little mood music and subtle text narration can do. This trailer paints a much more touching picture of the relationships in Rain. Now that we know it's part of Sony's fall line-up, hopefully we'll learn a bit more in a few weeks at E3. We do know it is coming to PlayStation 3 via the PlayStation Network.
