XSEED becomes Marvelous USA
XSEED JKS, Inc, has become Marvelous USA, which will oversee US operations. XSEED Games will remain a brand for localizing PC, console, and handheld games.
XSEED Games, the publisher behind several recent Japanese localizations in North America, is going through a transition. MarvelousAQL announced today that it has turned XSEED JKS, Inc. into Marvelous USA, which will oversee all of the company's US operations. XSEED Games will continue being the brand for PC, console, and handheld games. The newly-formed Marvelous Online will handle mobile and social games.
XSEED president and CEO Shinichi Suzuki will hold the same title at Marvelous USA, and the announcement states that the XSEED team has remained in Torrance, California. Ken Berry, who has been with XSEED since 2004, will continue to manage the selection of games to be published. The new Marvelous Online team is starting an office in Irvine California, with the acquisition of Atlus' online division earlier this year. It will be overseen by Tatsuya Nishioka. In total, the offices are 40-strong.
"Marvelous USA unifies our US operations under the global Marvelous brand while giving our customers topnotch products and support for both traditional and online social and mobile games," said Suzuki, in the announcement. "Our XSEED Games console and PC brand will continue to offer the quality games and service for which it is known, and Marvelous Online gives us expanded reach into mobile and online social gaming markets."
