River City Ransom 2 in development, crowd-funding coming this summer
River City Ransom 2 is in development from indie studio Combit, the developer announced. It is planning a crowd-funding effort this summer, with a release slated for next year.
River City Ransom is getting sequel talks again, after a false start in 2011. This time it's from indie studio Combit, which says it will work with River City Ransom EX developer Million. It also has plans to turn to crowd-funding.
Combit made the announcement on its site (via Polygon). Development is said to be underway already, and planning for an August 2014 release. The crowd-funding effort will kick off this summer. Combit says other platforms are "under consideration."
Japanese developer Miracle Kidz announced a sequel in 2011, and at the time even claimed it would be out later that year. But after a long silence, it subsequently said in 2012 that it had been put on hold indefinitely.
