The Xbox 360 has added yet another application to its TV line-up. An app dedicated to the CW television network will let you watch its assortment of melodramas and action shows like Supernatural, Arrow, and Beauty and the Beast a day after they air on standard TV, so long as you have a Gold subscription. Plus, the CW is taking advantage of Xbox's SmartGlass functionality.

The first glimpse of the SmartGlass in action for CW will come this Friday, with an episode of The Vampire Diaries. You'll be able to use the SmartGlass feature to access a map that follows characters through the town, bits of the town's history, biographies of the characters, and lore of New Orleans as it relates to the show.

We've heard a lot recently about Microsoft's entertainment plans, from a focus on TV apps to the possibility of original shows. As of yesterday, you can even order a pizza before you start up a show.
