If you just want to reserve a seat in the "Bring your own computer" area--and get a BYOC t-shirt, it will cost $30. But if you have money to burn, you can drop $90 for reserved seat AND the ultimate swag pack. There is also a fast-pass option for $50 that will get your computer a space and give you speedy access to register and all the panels. Several Shackers had reserved space last year, and this year should be no different.
There are a limited number of each package, so if any of them pique your interest, then be sure to be online when pre-registration begins at 5 p.m. PT (8 p.m. ET). You can get more details at the official QuakeCon site.

I think I may go this year just to see how awkward the keynote speeches are.
Bethesda VP of Marketing and PR Pete Hines is promising that Bethesda will be "announcing new stuff and making some noise" ( http://www.gamespot.com/news/bethesda-says-it-will-make-considerably-more-noise-in-2013-6406693 ) ...but I have a feeling that it won't be at QuakeCon, or if it is, it won't be stuff made by Id. Maybe Elder Scrolls VI, because they probably aren't that confident about Elder Scrolls Online alone this fiscal year.
