Lost Planet 3 was supposed to bring some winter weather early this summer, but Capcom has delayed the release of the game two months, until August 27. The publisher told Shacknews that the game was delayed for "business reasons."

Business reasons could mean any number of things, but we haven't heard much about the game since Capcom released 15 minutes of gameplay at Gamescom last August. You could read our preview from E3, where we were happily surprised by the game.

To commemorate the new release date, Capcom has announced that the game is now available for pre-order, with requisite retail-specific bonuses. See them below:

Been expecting this game. I'll wait as long as it takes. Looks more and more like Dead Space and thats a good thing.

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to this as well - looks like it'll have a better story than it's predecessors (which was a bit all over the place, but still good fun) . Plus, I always love a good giant robot stomp.

I am disappointed by the apparent lack of co-op play, however - that was the selling point to LP2 and is the reason I still play it to this day (bought it twice actually - once on Xbox and again on PC).
