Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon listing reveals possible date, more 80's references

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon briefly held a detailed description on Xbox Live Marketplace, which revealed a possible May 1 release date and more 1980s references.

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon just keeps getting weirder. Following leaks and an April 1st teaser site that seemed aimed at making us assume it was a joke, Ubisoft has been quiet on the issue. A new Xbox Live Marketplace listing might out the game's date, but most importantly, it exposes more of how the game is just straight-up bonkers.

A revealing XBLM listing (via Joystiq) has popped up that gives more details on the game. The description lists it for a May 1 release, which is either a placeholder or an extremely quick turnaround for the standalone game. The listing also confirmed that it's a single-player game (with leaderboards), and showed the same leaked screenshots we saw last week.

Better yet, it touches on more of the 80s-fabulous references. The "VHS vision of the future" is composed of cyborgs, mutants, and nuclear weapons. It even includes actor Michael Biehn of Terminator and Aliens fame, though it doesn't mention if he's in the starring role or an NPC.

I had 0 interest in FC3, but this expansion has piqued it rather teasingly.

I too thought this until right after I beat it. In retrospect the enemy AI is so stupid it makes the game laughable, even on the new Master difficulty setting. I thought I'd have a lot of fun after completion resetting the outposts and then going nuts, but really... the combat is super lackluster because the enemies don't ever get better AI or tactics past the initial few battles. There's a nice illusion that the difficulty is ramping up early on when they start throwing armored guys at you... but that's it, it doesn't get tougher past that.

i would play it maybe 10 minutes, because i have shot men in about every possible way already. ive shot them in a jungle, a city, and a desert, in villages and in warehouses. i have shot mutated men, zombie men, and men who were not men at all. ive shot them to save my girlfriend, the world, and for money. ive shot them on orders, and in defiance of orders. ive shot the men who once shot at men alongside me. ive shot them with every 5.56 and 7.62 rifle ever made, and from the driver seat of every type of vehicle from armored military fighting machines to junky old pickups.

i have not shot them in the 80's very often though. i cant remember the last time i shot a man from the 80s, and the thought of such a thing intrigues me.

Actually, you'll be shooting them in what people in the 80's thought 2007 would look like. For an idea of that, look at Terminator 2.

The XBLA listing is gone (page not found for me).

I think this may be a joke that is still going, and maybe too far... kinda strange we never get any official word from UBI yes? Also, I read a comment about how XBLA games need to be less than 2GB (2GB max)... this game surely wouldn't squeeze in to that.
