The project blew through the $3.5 million it need to bring former PlaneScape Torment lead designer Chris Avellone on board to add a new companion and provided feedback on the game. The total now sits around $3.8 million once you add in the more than $89,000 received in PayPal donations.
The new screenshot of the Sagus Cliffs (and accompanying video below) offer a bit of contrast to the somewhat creepy Bloom beast shown a few days ago. And if you have some spare time and are really into where inXile is taking the game, then take a gander at the 27-page vision document the company released, particularly the final section on community involvement.
It looks like the Kickstarter won't reach the "player stronghold" level of $4.5 million, but the $4 million goal (another city and more music) certainly has a chance. InXile has already pushed back the release date of the game from its original December 2014 date because of the large number of stretch goals already attained.

The definitely found a winning formula alright -- appealing to hardcore 90s cRPG players by presenting projects staffed by developers of some of the greatest 90s cRPGs ever made.
I doubt anyone else can replicate this, without playing it very similar as far as genre and staff. Wasteland 2, Project Eternity, and Torment are the only Kickstarters I am remotely willing to back (and did) because of the proven devs they have on board. I'm never going to back a no-name, unproven company no matter how slick their pitch.
