Former Draw Something studio CEO leaves Zynga
Dan Porter, the former CEO of OMGPOP who took over as vice president of Zynga's New York office after the studio was acquired, has decided to leave the company.
Dan Porter, the former CEO of OMGPOP who transitioned to vice president of Zynga's New York office after the studio's acquisition, has decided to leave. This comes one year after the initial acquisition, and right on the heels of the company announcing Draw Something 2.
USA Today (via Joystiq) reports that Porter will be replaced by Sean Kelly, who has worked on other Zynga hits like CityVille and FarmVille.
Draw Something, which put OMGPOP on the map and influenced Zynga's acquisition interest, dropped in daily use after Zynga picked it up. Zynga itself is facing its own financial hurdles, studio closures, stock dips, and executive departures recently.
