EA closes BioWare San Francisco
EA has reportedly closed BioWare San Francisco, a mobile and social developer that took on the BioWare name in 2011.
BioWare San Francisco has been shut down. Originally known as EA2D, the mobile and social studio was known for games like Dragon Age: Legends and Mirror's Edge 2D. It was eventually brought into the BioWare umbrella in August of 2011.
GamesRadar initially cited a source who claims EA deemed mobile development "too expensive" in Redwood Shores, California. IGN subsequently confirmed the report, adding that the closure will affect nearly 30 people.
Shacknews wishes the best of luck to those affected.

Only recently I discovered the world of RPGs: when i ventured into the bioware library, I felt really BAD for them because it's incredible how crippled the newer games are. Like mass effect 2 and 3: they BARELY qualify as RPGs, they're almost gears of war clones.
Another dev murdered by EA.
fuck you EA

I wish Bioware could have gotten the same deal that Blizzard got from Activision. None of this name branding bullshit and investor quarterly pressure from the top. Its clear now that the Doctors took that near billion dollar deal from EA because they saw their retirement in the contract. Just 2 years as Exec VPs at EA and out the door they went, into gaming history.
