StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm trailer shows Kerrigan's vengeance

If you don't want any spoilers, you might want to steer clear. The trailer is full of Blizzard's top-notch pre-rendered cinematics and in-game footage that makes you wonder if she really is free of the hive mind, or if her all-consuming quest to get back at those who wronged her will wipe out the work Jim Raynor did to free her in Wings of Liberty.

The game will be available on March 12th.

Actually the preceeding lines spoiled the end of Wings Of Liberty, which you should've finished 3 years ago already.

Haven't played Wings of Liberty yet, I'll probably play through both of these in a couple months. Very stoked.

My thoughts, yes I'm as bad as a youtube commenter:

Copy and paste from Blizz Forums:

      Hello Blizzard,
I'll try to make this short.

      First small issue.
WHY is your trailers, art, backgrounds and overall promotion of HoTS clearly depicting Kerrigan as a "re-zerg'd" character? You've pretty much given away what I would think (should be!) a major plot point for the game.
Even if my assumption is incorrect and it doesn't occur until the end of HoTS, it's pretty painfully obvious it does occur at some point. I feel this is unnecessary, you know it's possible to release media without spoiling things? I think this is pretty unfortunate way to handle things.

Second issue, major problem as far as I'm concerned.
I'm just going to say it. Warcraft 3 was FAR better than Starcraft 2. Before you say it, I don't even LIKE fantasy storylines!
The reason it was better, was character immersion, I know "the SC2 community" hates Heroes - and that's fine, sure - but in SINGLE player, Heroes were just fantastic. They helped us bond with a character throughout the game and it allowed storytelling IN-game and IN-map, which is really important.
Starcraft 2 felt old fasioned, we've got some great intro cinematics, we've got some in-engine cinematics and a pre-game story but the ACTUAL in-game, gameplay was pretty weak, like War2, Dune2, SC1, just plain old "yet another RTS level"

War 3 maintained a consistent unit I can control through multiple levels. Able to pull switches, pick up items and most importantly talk to other characters IN GAME, ON MAP.

Furthermore, the actual quantity of dialogue in SC2 felt thin, obviously it's difficult to produce as much content as War 3 with todays technology requirements but that lack of conversations on the map in the game really was noticable. I'd be happy for actually less in engine cutscenes on the ship / bar and some more on the map, keeping me engaged with the story consistently.

I've been meaning to post this for a very long time. I sincerely sincerely hope that HoTS has a significant focus back in this direction. War3 might not be flawless but that aspect of in game, in map storytelling was vastly superior to SC2 and I'd like to see the way the story is told evolve. If HoTS does not have this focus, please consider it for future Blizzard RTS games.
