Walking Dead: Survival Instinct trailer released, pre-order bonuses detailed
Of course The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct has pre-order bonuses. And look, a new trailer showing off gameplay.
The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct is Terminal Reality's FPS prequel to the TV series. Activision has release a new trailer (official, this time) showing off the brothers Dixon, and also revealed some of the retailer-exclusive pre-order bonuses you can get.
GameStop will include the Herd Mode Challenge, where you kill wave after wave of zombies to try for a high score. Reservations will also include a keychain molded in the shape of an ear. Amazon offers the Walker Execution Pack, which includes five special melee weapons.
The game will be coming to PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on March 19, and to Wii U on March 26.

I think part of it is an homage to George Romero's movies, and part of it is just how goofy it sounds to say zombie in the "real" world.
In Night of the Living Dead, the word zombie was never said. Actually, aside from a brief mention in Dawn of the Dead and an equally brief mention in Land of the Dead, none of Romero's zombie movies said the word zombie (well, that I know of. I haven't seen Diary and Survival of the Dead yet). That's what the whole "don't use the zed word" bit in Shaun of the Dead was in reference to.
In World War Z (I think?) it was commented by one of the characters that it just sounds goofy to say "zombie" when they're no longer fictional monsters. Which, to me, is just a reason to reference Romero's lack of using the term.
