Aliens: Colonial Marines 'Bug Hunt' DLC spotted at retail
A retail ad appears to list a "Bug Hunt" DLC mode for Aliens: Colonial Marines. The ad claims it will hit on March 19 for $14.99.
Update 2/8/13: Gearbox has officially announced the "Bug Hunt" mode for March, but did not mention an exact date or price. Walmart purchasers will get this pack for free. The same announcement also confirmed a Season Pass for all platforms.
Original Story - Aliens: Colonial Marines will be getting a Season Pass' worth of DLC. But what will that actually entail? A retail leak may give us an idea.
An ad from retailer Wal-Mart was spotted on the Gearbox forums, promoting a new mode called "Bug Hunt," which challenges the player to "take on waves of increasingly difficult enemies" with a group of friends. Described as a "$14.99 Value," this add-on could be a bonus that Wal-Mart is offering.
Shacknews has contacted Sega regarding the mode, and will update as more information becomes available. While we wait to hear back, check out a new trailer below.

I understand why companies do DLC, after all, they're a business and more money is always welcomed. But when they start tacking on "horde mode" type addons and charge for it, that's where I get disgusted, especially at this price point, really?
I don't mind paying for Additional Story, but gimmicks like horde mode should be a Vanilla option.
Gearbox is making this seem like a AAA Title. Season-Pass, Overpriced DLC; this game better be good, and it better be a vagina that shoots out rainbows and gold for this price.-
It's probably Sega and not Gearbox making this call. That's pretty common where the publisher is calling the marketing/merchandising shots like this and the studio is forced to deliver to make payroll before the game is release and making profit for the publisher (which flows to the developer after the up-front money is recouped).

If this "Bug Hunt" mode was set up along the lines of Killing Floor (ie. survive X waves of enemies then beat boss to win), I might actually be interested in this. But since I get the impression it'll be "kill infinite waves until you ultimately die" (like the Skirmish mode in the last AvP game), I can't say I really care about this DLC at all.
