Omerta - City of Gangsters PC demo released
With Tropico 4 developer Haemimont's gangster strategy game Omerta - City of Gangsters arriving on PC next week, publisher Kalypso has released a demo offering a taste of mobster life. Omerta is more action-oriented than Tropico, with turn-based tactical combat, so grab the 793MB download here at Shacknews and see how it shapes up.

The demo packs two single-player missions from Omerta, though the full game features competitive and cooperative multiplayer too. As our Ozzie explained in his preview, Omerta combines city management sim with turn-based tactical man-shooting and RPG elements, though he enjoyed the city-building more than the combat. Say, why don't you download the demo and make up your own mind?
Omerta: City of Gangsters hits PC on January 31, then Xbox 360 on February 12.

Was thinking along the same line, but if you have time, might want to read the 'impression' from RPS just for more info:

From the gameplay stream, looks like it will be more open ended than just a simple 15 hours then finish and never play again. Plus, you can try a new game with a different set of character traits and/or specs, and go about finishing the mission different ways...
I also was informed that there is a sandbox mode in which there is no story involved, so it will be very open ended like Tropico is.
Also, if you are getting it from a different seller (say, GMG), you can get it for cheaper than 30 bux (not as cheap as you want it as a ipad game), but still.
