"We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience that the lack of name change options has caused anyone," Blizzard said in a blog post. "We've definitely heard your passion for this subject, and we should have more information about a Paid Character Name Change feature shortly after the release of Heart of the Swarm."
Yes, for now you'll have to make do with changing your account name for free. Awfully sorry. Blizzard also plans to dole out another free name change when SC2's Clans feature goes live in a few months, so people can remove superfluous clan tags. Don't worry, though, after that you should get to pay for the privilege.
To change your name, log into the Battle.net account management, go to your StarCraft II license page, hit the "Character Name Change" button, then fire up SC2 to pick a new name.
The second part of the StarCraft 2 trilogy, Heart of the Swarm, is due on March 12.
