If financial woes are what's kept you away, you're in luck, as the whole first episode is now free on Xbox 360 until December 31.

We really should get around to playing it, fellow person who keeps meaning to. If financial woes are what's kept you away, you're in luck, as the whole first episode is now free on Xbox 360 until December 31.
To download it, head on over to the Xbox Live Marketplace and download the doodad named 'Full Game - The Walking Dead.' You can then buy the four other episodes individually for $5 apiece, or probably pick it up a darn sight cheaper for PC in the ongoing digital distribution holiday sales war. The whole series is $12.49 for PC on Amazon right now, for example.
Telltale has also set the first episode of the comic book adaptation free for iThings forever, if you'd rather play on the train.

DevilDog gifted me The Walking Dead on PC yesterday and I was up until 3 AM playing it, most of the way through Chapter 2 (which was cool but pretty obvious as to what was going on, especially to anyone who's read The Road (horrorish novel made into a movie within the last few years). Great game, though based on all the horror stories about the end I have a good guess as to what's gonna happen.
