Bungie releases image of 'next universe'
Bungie has been mum about its current project Destiny since it was revealed in Activision court documents back in May. We know it going to be an Xbox exclusive coming late in 2013, and we know Paul McCartney is working on music with Bungie. Now Bungie teases us with an image of what could be the sci-fi action shooter.

We know it going to be an Xbox exclusive coming late in 2013, and we know Paul McCartney is working on music with the developer. Now Bungie has teased us with what could be an image from the sci-fi action shooter.
The shot appeared with the following message on Bungie's blog from community manager David "DeeJ" Dague:
Go ahead. Take a peek. It's alright. We weren't quite ready, but we will be soon, and we can't wait to finally show you what we've really been up to.
Stick around, we haven't even started yet.
The released image was in response to a leak to IGN showing concept art and some back story. The information was prepared by an advertising agency, Bungie confirmed. "We're not quite ready to take the wraps off our next universe, but in light of recent events we thought we'd give fans something a little more official."
The company has already solicited beta testers for the project.

"Our story begins seven hundred years from now in the Last City on Earth, in a Solar System littered with the ruins of man's Golden Age. A massive, mysterious alien ship hangs overhead like a second Moon. No one knows where it came from or what it's here for, but only that it's our protector. Meanwhile, strange, alien monsters creep in from the edge of the universe, determined to take Earth and the Last City. We are young ‘knights' tasked with defending the remains of humanity, discovering the source of these monsters and — eventually — overcoming it."

Amazing, that looks so rad. Man would it be nice this was for the new system or the PC the old box is just not cutting it anymore. Seem like a waste, it will cash out for sure I guess. But I guess who knows when the next systems drop so they got to feed their families, can they not dev on the PC now though, thought they went MP?
I don't want to be a jerk but man I wish the PS3 and Xbox where dead and just completely gone now, heck if you play the WiiU(no debate on the CPU juice here) just play Mario, ZombiU, Assault Nano, That 2D MegaMan game, and Ninja Gaiden and you can never play your 360 or PS3 again the graphics just look like shit it's like the WiiU renders native 2x or more it's so obvious and that is comparing the latest games. I won't even compare the PC.
Keep in mind I play PC all day and use the same screen for all my systems, it's just that pure 360 and ps3 have to carry like a 100 bricks and it was only meant for 20 bricks like years ago. It really is a miracle both where rad now let them just RIP and move on.
Graphics whore or valid argument?-
Coming to the PC etc --> http://news.softpedia.com/news/Bungie-Says-New-Multiplatform-Game-Engine-Is-a-Challenge-232958.shtml
- new MP engine
- new IP
“We have a brand new game, a brand new IP. Our project right now is at a very exciting stage. For the first time we're now shipping on multiple platforms, and then the new consoles are at least not far on the horizon.””
So is not Destiny their first multiple platform title, is this not the case? If not then what is their other title I have heard of nothing else?-

Nothing about that says it's coming to PC. And their promo materials only mention 360 and PS3. http://oyster.ignimgs.com/wordpress/stg.ign.com/2012/11/destiny-35jpg-489af9.jpg

I'm not saying you're not a graphics whore ;) but it's not even an argument anymore. The console warriors will surely chime in on the respective benefits (controller, couch, blah), but once you're used to present-day PC graphics, there's really no turning back, at least for me. I can deal with the occasional console exclusive like RDR and Uncharted, which both look amazing, but even then when it gets busy and the frame rate starts to tank, it just makes me sad. I realize graphics aren't everything. Graphics tech to the common person is advancing at such a slow rate now (do common gamers even appreciate or recognize tessellation, advanced ambient occlusion and anti-aliasing methods?) that the new round of consoles will focus on alternative inputs and different ways to enjoy the medium. That's all well and good, and WiiU is making a good case for that kind of stuff even with the current crop of games on the system, but man, I need my graphics and 60+fps.

I agree, PC's are just so far ahead of the game at the moment that when playing console releases the flaws are so apparent it can be distracting. Now it's so easy to hook up a PC to a TV and with many games giving full 360 controller support my consoles are seeing significantly less use.
Like you said the occasional game comes out that shows the consoles still have a little life in them, but if we look at your examples - Rockstar has an absolutely incredible art team that made a technically limited game look great, and Naughty Dog has arguably some of the best artists and engine programmers in the business. Unfortunately not every developer has access to such incredible talent and it's really starting to show.

Destiny is further described as “fun and accessible to all,” aiming “to create a universe as deep, tangible and relatable as that of the Star Wars franchise.” Based on the language in the document, it appears that Bungie aims to create a universe accessible to multiple demographics, perhaps suggesting that Destiny will be less mature than Bungie’s efforts with Halo.
