Guild Wars 2 is getting a large world event with its November "Lost Shores" update, but details are sketchy so far.

Guild Wars 2 is apparently preparing a large update for November, but details are scant at the moment. The update is called "The Lost Shores," and involves a "one-time world event that will change Tyria forever." Those vague hints are part of the official tease, along with three new screenshots. More details are said to be forthcoming. A forum post (via Ausgamers) from community manager Martin Kerstein says that after a new build being released soon, players can dig in to find more information about what's coming. Rumors are circulating regarding certain dragons in the upcoming content, but none have been confirmed.

Oh man, this reminds me of the old days playing Asheron's Call, monthly updates with crazy-ass world events. Yay!

Ah yes I loved AC. Guild wars is a blast and monthly updates would be a welcomed thing.

I'd rather punch myself in the balls than do that again, otherwise the rest was fun.

I was actually getting pretty good at completing the tower. My hands were trembling and my heart rate rate was irregular towards the end though...lol.

Less "one-time event" and more content that is gonna stay and add to the world, please.

No, it almost certainly won't be on Steam. Valve has some new business terms will keep almost all new MMOs off Steam.

I don't understand the logic behind this. Why not just link it as a non steam games?

He hates Arena Net and wants to cut the only revenue source for an MMO with no subscription fee.

steam doesn't confer a lot of benefit when you can just download the client off their website. it's different when the alternative is installing from a CD but this is not like that

Will never be on steam. You can get it for like 25$ on various sites like GreenManGaming etc.

I love that ArenaNet is pumping out content like this. It really makes Blizzard look bad IMO. GW2 is one of the the best MMO's that I have played in a long time and with no monthly fee, its great. I never played the first GW but if you haven't had a chance to try it, you should. Invest into a company that listens to it's players.
