Ninja Gaiden 3 Wii U features detailed
Tecmo Koei has detailed the new features coming to Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge when it launches alongside the Wii U on November 18.
When Ninja Gaiden 3 launched on PS3 and Xbox 360, it was torn apart by reviewers. Tecmo and Team Ninja have a chance to make things right again with Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge, an enhanced re-release coming in time for Wii U's launch on November 18. With just under a month to go before the dual-screened bloodbath, new publisher Nintendo of America has detailed some of the platform-specific features to expect from Ryu's next outing.
As opposed to her brief cameo in the original game, Ayane will be a playable character with her own set of attacks. You can also choose her in the game's online co-op mode. Tecmo promises three more characters coming as free downloadable content sometime after launch.
You'll be able to use Karma points to upgrade your character, and each chapter will have a "Test of Valor" section with classic Ninja Gaiden bosses. Enemies will now be able to fight when severely wounded, too. The game will also include six weapons to choose from instead of three, and three available Ninpo instead of three.
The Wii U GamePad is being used primarily as a quick-select tool for changing weapons or Ninpo attacks, but it will also serve as a handy cheat sheet for combos without needing to stop the game. Except for stopping to look down at the controller, that is.
