Magic: The Gathering - Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013 DLC decks released
Love it, loathe it, kind of like it, think it's a bit naff, or have no real opinion, you must admire that Magic: The Gathering has been around for 19 years now but still manages to stay fresh with new expansions and an ever-changing metagame. With the cardboard incarnation's 'Return to Ravinca' expansion block drawing near, the digital version Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013 has received a small expansion of its own, with new DLC teasing the new set.

Sounds good to me. My favorite part of these expansions is always the new challenges. Also looking forward to the Selesnya and Azorious decks!
I really hope they introduce a 'best of 3' online mode in a future update. I know it may be out of the scope of the target audience, but being able to play against an opponent with a sideboard ready could really improve the online play. -

There are extra cards, certainly, as screenshots show Niv-Mezzet, the Firemind. However, the fact that it's Firemind rather than his new form in Return to Ravinca (Niv-Mizzet, Dracogenius) suggests that they may be 'old' new cards.
I haven't bought the DLC yet though, so I couldn't say there are definitely none from RtR.-
Which is a shame, because damn, look at this dragon: http://media.wizards.com/images/magic/tcg/products/rtr/ejs1auge30_en.jpg

You mean those awful three/four color dudes from Legends? They'd be useless in modern Magic.
I mean look at this motherfucker: http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?printed=false&multiverseid=201177
An 8 drop, with three different colors, a 3 color upkeep cost and he does what? Makes your creatures slightly harder to kill.
The rest are similarly useless, save maybe Nicol Bolas and Vaevictus Asmadi...but even then, compared to similar costs in Standard, they're shit. -

according to http://www.wizards.com/Magic/Magazine/Article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/arcana/1060
"It's full of cards from the original Ravnica: City of Guilds block, so there aren't any preview cards from Return to Ravnica."

Having never played Magic, I bought this game after they talked about it on Idle Thumbs and am actually pretty addicted.
I wish it was more stripped down though. I get they want to make their product seem impressive, but I'd rather it was something I could just leave on in a window without all the fancy animations and other whizzbangery. -
