Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath HD hits Steam
Steam is now selling Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath HD with improved PC controls, difficulty levels, and more.
You might have missed the boat on Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath. Maybe you got too busy, or maybe you were holding out for the ill-fated Xbox 360 version. Whatever the cause, you can now grab the enhanced game on your PC via Steam--with a free upgrade for current Stranger's Wrath owners.
PC Gamer reports that if you happen to already own Stranger's Wrath on Steam, you can get a free upgrade to the HD version. For you bargain hunters, you may be interested in the Oddbox, which gathers together all four Oddworld games together.
The PC title adds 12 new achievements, concept art and movie extras for each region, increased language support, improved PC controls, three difficulty levels, various easter eggs, and higher resolution models for the characters and better background textures.

It does look good, and the character/critter designs are a lot of fun.
I played through the tutorial and opening area using a 360 controller and it was a little awkward. The camera is swimmy, and changing ammo types takes several button presses. Since the ammo types are the best part of the game, and you can only have 2 active at a time, that's a bit of a bummer.
I want to give it a go with mouse/kbd next, but I got distracted by Black Mesa.
