Counter-Strike: Global Offensive launching with zombie mod
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive will already have a Plaguefest zombie mod available when it launches tomorrow.
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is treading a well-worn path in the shooter genre, with the announcement of a zombie mod for the game. Yes, if you haven't gotten your fill of knocking off zombies by the truckload yet, you'll be able to take down some undead when CS:GO launches tomorrow.
The Counter-Strike blog gives word that Valve has been working with the modders at Plaguefest to produce a mod for the game, and it will be ready in time for launch. It promises many more mods to come in the months ahead, too.
Obviously this news relates to the PC version, but the game is due for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 this week too. If you grab it through the PSN Play promotion and have a PlayStation Plus membership, you can get a 20% discount. Check out the latest trailer below.

I had a super popular mod I made for CS1 called "RuneMod", which ported the quake 1 threewave ctf runes to counterstrike, and you kept them over rounds, which tended to encourage less camping, as players desired runes other players had.
I wish there were a way to contact valve and work out a method to get these added to CS:GO, I've heard that they have been gimping a lot of the mod APIs, which is sort of depressing.-

It was awesome! I started making weird runes that were pretty balanced, but very powerful, like one that let you walk through walls while you had a knife out, a rune that let you have the quake1 tf esque grappling hook, and one that made your pistol level up, each time you killed with it it got stronger until it was just absurd. Here's a video of some dude playing it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=genWhKZJW_0
I tried posting in the steam forums the other day asking if there is any way they could work with me to port it, but that forum is a terrible place to ask something like that. Maybe I should email gabe, although I feel like he probably doesn't really reply to every email.
