Papo & Yo trailer doesn't shy from abuse story

Papo & Yo is launching next week, and a new trailer puts the drug abuse allegory into stark relief.

Papo & Yo is a clever puzzle-platformer with a bittersweet twist. Creative director Vander Caballero has been frank about his childhood conflict with his father, who was a drug abuser, and says the game is an allegory for that experience. One might expect the marketing to shy away from such heavy subject matter, but a launch trailer in anticipation for next week's release deals with the story head-on.

As previously reported, the game is due next week, August 14, for $14.99. If you're a PlayStation Plus member, you can snag it for $11.99. The game is now available for pre-order, which will net you a Papo & Yo PS3 theme.

Wow ... that's a pretty interesting trailer right there ... the game doesn't look half bad either.

Good to see a unique concept like this.
