Mortal Kombat: Legacy returning for second season
Mortal Kombat: Legacy has announced a second season, focusing on the fighting tournament of the same name to make way for more action and visual effects.
Mortal Kombat: Legacy is returning for a second season. The popular web series began as a short film, but was rolled into a series to accompany the release of last year's Mortal Kombat series reboot.
"It's going to be about the actual Mortal Kombat tournament this time," said Kevin Tancharoen in the announcement trailer. "A lot of people were expressing their opinions on wanting to see more fighting, more action, more visual effects, so we really took that to heart."
The trailer also showed off a long list of fighters appearing this season, including Kano, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, and Raiden. Or a Raiden bobblehead. It was kind of hard to tell which was being promised.
The makers of a popular Street Fighter short recently announced it will also be getting a web series, just as Mortal Kombat: Legacy began with a fan film. Now we just need fans to dig in and extol the virtues of one series while cursing the other. It will be like the mid-90s all over again.
