Orcs Must Die! developer Robot Entertainment is bringing its iOS hit Hero Academy to PC via Steam, complete with a team of Team Fortress 2 characters. The asynchronous multiplayer tactics 'em up will support cross-platform play with the iOS edition, too.

Hero Academy's about turn-based grid-set tactical combat between two teams with various units and abilities. The PC edition will come with a team based upon Valve's lovable mercenaries as well as the Council side. Following the iOS model, you'll have to pay for extra teams, but any unlocked are shared across both platforms. Yes, including the TF2 team. As a bonus, each team you buy unlocks a cosmetic item to wear in TF2.

Hero Academy is due on Steam on August 8. Hit the announcement for more information.

They never fixed my account and after months of going back and forth with their tech support people I just gave up. They used such a stupid login method on the iOS version, instead of just using the Game Center like every other game. It was fun, but they were a bunch of boobs with godawful tech support team.

Sounds great, now where the heck is the Android version! I am so sick of hearing about this game and NOT playing it! I hate that Android is still the red-headed step child of mobile gaming. A few years ago when the G1 was just a pimply faced runt I could see it... but now... Android devices are all over the place. And it's not like the devices are not capable... I've played games on my Droid Bionic which look better than Wii games (and my device is almost a year old now).

"Android devices are all over the place." - Exactly. They are a nightmare to develop for because they all run dramatically different versions of the OS, have a lot of different hardware configurations, and the marketplace sucks.
