Splinter Cell series may become a movie
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell video game franchise is gathering interest from movie studios, with Paramount Pictures being the front-runner.
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell is coming back next year with a new game, Blacklist. It appears that some film studios want to expand upon the successful franchise, with one report saying that Paramount Pictures is the front runner to grab Sam Fisher for the big screen.
Warner Bros. had first started the talks, according to a report on Deadline.com, but Paramount seems the more logical choice as it has a history making movies based on Tom Clancy's works, including the upcoming Jack Ryan film Moscow.
No indication was given as who could portray Fisher. Previous games had the role filled by Michael Ironside. However, Blacklist introduces a new actor for the role: Eric Johnson, who provides both voice and motion capture work for the lead character.

Harrison Ford was a pretty good Jack Ryan in Patriot games and Clear and Present Danger. There was also The Hunt for Red October, too; all Tom Clancy Novels so I'm sure they could make it pretty well done, of course it'll probably be more drama/intrigue but I'd see it.
Now If only Micheal Ironside wasn't old and fat, then we'd at least have the same voice ;) -
