Warning, your imagination is probably better than what you are about to see:

They made a few mistakes with this thing.
First - the deviation in art styles is horrible. Through Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim I really thought these guys took something generic and polished it into something fairly strong. My test for for videogame identity is when you can look at a screen shot and get a good idea what game it came from.
The video in the link above shows a very generic muddled fantasy world that could be from various MMO's released in the last 5 years (maybe they underestimated the MMO space when they started years ago?)
Second, their producer sucks at selling. Sorry if anyone knows this guy personally. Don't tell me the graphics are fantastic, let me decide. Instead tell me what we can't see, something cool about the world or the process. Also, never, NEVER come from the weak position that you decided on a style for performance reasons even if that is the truth.
"Well we wanted it to look cool, but you know....we can't because the technology sucks."
I'm sure some people might find his honesty refreshing but I can tell you it is reflective of a hesitant vision which doesn't bode well. Could you imagine this coming from other producers in different mediums?
"We wanted Robert Deniro for the role but you know, Bruce Boxlietner was cheaper"
"The Pyschlos are a race of giant cat people who live in space, we didn't have money for that so we gave you Travolta in dreads instead."
"They were all out of blue paint at the store so I painted Starry Night with red instead."

That actually was a waaaayyyyy better video. The first thing that came to mind seeing some of the terrain was " this is Vanguard". It got me more excited about the MMO, but yes I agree it looks very typical, but IMHO that's fine as everything released MMO wise is looking cartoony to catch the eyes of the WoW crowd.
I will admit that video, even void of actual gameplay as it was, impressed me. Thanks for sharing!
