Painkiller Hell & Damnation coming from NecroVisioN dev

The Painkiller series is all but dead in our hearts thanks to a string of third-rate sequels and expansions, but Painkiller Hell & Damnation hopes to stir up interest again. It's jumping to Unreal Engine 3, and also a third-person perspective.

Painkiller has been passed between many developers since People Can Fly's splendid original game in 2004, with largely unpleasant results, but the shooter may now have landed at a developer who can do it justice. Work on Painkiller Hell & Damnation is underway at The Farm 51, maker of the daft-in-a-pleasant-way NecroVisioN, publisher Nordic Games announced at E3. Describing Hell & Damnation as a "comeback," Nordic says that it "recreates the sensations and hardcore gameplay of the original," with "lightning-fast movement" and "enormo-boss fights." We can't help but notice that the three announcement screenshots are all from a third-person perspective, though surely that's purely for showing-off purposes. Surely! There's no word yet on which platforms H&D will hit, but it's built on the eminently portable Unreal Engine 3 so both PC and consoles are quite probable. “We're proud of the shiny new splendor of the game's graphics, but we're doubly proud we've made player skill the most important part of the game," Nordic's Reinhard Pollice said in the announcement. "In addition to the single player campaign, we're putting a tremendous emphasis on the game's multiplayer component."

Shiny, yes

Keep your smart ass remarks out of the article and just post something like a normal journalist. I come here for information, not for bullshit.
