That sneaky Sam Fisher is to return in Splinter Cell: Blacklist, Ubisoft just revealed during Microsoft's E3 press event. He's off to distant and dusty lands to take down the titular terrorist plan, and armed with some snazzy Kinect tricks. It'll come to PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in spring 2013.

Kinect voice recognition can be used to yell and enemies in-game and distract them, as well as call down airstrikes. Sam's 'mark and execute' ability from Conviction returns, too, though Ubisoft boldly describes it as a "new 'Killing-in-Motion' fighting style." Like M&E, KiM lets Sam mark several enemies for death then take them all out in one smooth sequence of shootings and stabbings.

You see, a group of "rogue nations" are, for reasons one cannot imagine, sick of the USA's military presence in their country, and hatch a cunning plan. Enter 'The Blacklist,' a series of escalating attacks on US assets to push the big bullies out, only they don't consider the possibility of Sam Fisher stabbing them in the face.

Splinter Cell: Blacklist is in development at Ubisoft Toronto, the new studio headed by Jade Raymond, with help from Ubisoft Montreal and Ubisoft Shanghai.

What happens when your baby starts crying at the top of his lungs? Do the enemy cringe and give you a sympathy beer or do you get spotted and shot?

Splinter Cell in name only. They've just made it into another generic action game - completely dumbed down. Run into the middle of a bunch of bad guys and press one button to take them all out? No thanks.

Here's a idea - how about you make a challenging stealth game?

Oh great, 360 as lead platform, more out dated graphics for the PC port, *IF* it does get ported. I haven't felt the urge to play a SC since Chaos Theory. Looking at the screen shot, the Sam I remembered stayed out of sun light, hiding is the shadows is the SC I way. Its like they CoDed Splinter Cell.

I remember when I played the first one on PC, and I was so shitty at it - so I used the invisible cheat. Yet since it's a third person game, Sam was invisible to me as well, which made it incredible difficult not to bump into things

You made the unfounded speculation how this was a much better game. I simply gave you an opportunity to enlighten us unwashed masses.

If you cannot back up your assertion, well, that makes you an idiot with a tiny vocabulary.

Wow, better than I expected on the action side of things. I'm sure this demo was to please the mass market, therefore the devs probably have a lot of stealth in store since the suit is back and all. Cant wait for Spies vs Mercs. So happy they announced this!
