Need for Speed: Most Wanted coming from Criterion Games
As expected, this year's entry to EA's annual racing franchise comes from Criterion Games, developer of Burnout Paradise and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit.
Yesterday, EA confirmed the existence of one of its least-guarded secrets: Dead Space 3. Today, the publisher is confirming yet another not-so-veiled game: Need for Speed: Most Wanted. As expected, this year's entry to EA's annual racing franchise comes from Criterion Games, developer of the Burnout franchise.
The original Most Wanted released in 2005, with an emphasis on police chases. It appears Criterion's take on Most Wanted will do the same, as the first screenshot from Geoff Keighley shows. Criterion's previous game, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, was critically praised for introducing Autolog into the franchise.
More details on this sequel are expected at E3 next week.

That's one of the least bullshotty bullshots I've ever seen. Looks great.
I'm going to guess that's coming from the 360 version? It looks like the aliasing (on vehicles) is coming through the DOF (take a look at the police SUV on the upper right side) filter which was a limitation of DX9. Post-processing AA support? VISTA BITCHES

I would've been excited about this, but it's going to be mechanically different from Most Wanted (since it is Criterion) and I'm not sure that is a good thing, and it is going to be published by EA (not a fan) so it will probably have some BS that I can't tolerate from them.
It is so sad, Most Wanted was the last great NFS game that Black Box made. -

Whenever I got into the car after starting up Most Wanted, this song would make me drive as fast as possible as quickly as possible:

Say whatever you want about rap or rap/rock remixes, but this song PUMPED me up to drive in MW1. I hope the soundtrack is as good in Most Wanted 2!!-

The Perceptionists Lets Move was the track that did it for me.

The Terminator 2, Neverending Story and Aqua Teen Hunger Force references in the first verse put it over the top for me.
