The boy who lived is getting yet another video game adaptation. This time, players will be thrown into the shoes of a Hogwarts student through the magic of Kinect. Appropriately titled Harry Potter for Kinect, the game is being developed by Eurocom and is due out this fall. Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment is publishing, naturally.

The game encompasses all eight Harry Potter films, but you won't be playing as any of the core gang of characters. Instead, the Kinect will scan your face to make your own witch or wizard and weave within the characters and scenarios presented in the films. You'll visit Ollivander's wand shop, be placed into a house, and battle Voldemort. Apparently they're playing a little fast and loose with canon. Kinect commands will let you cast spells with physical maneuvers and spell names.

"Harry Potter for Kinect will engage Harry Potter fans old and new by bringing them into the wizarding world as truly active participants," said WBIE senior VP of production and development Samantha Ryan, in the announcement. "Kids and parents will enjoy recreating their favorite Harry Potter adventures, from flying a broomstick in a Quidditch match, to battling pixies and dueling other wizards."
