The large-scale "Inferno" expansion for EVE Online is available starting today, offering a ton of new additions, systems, and tweaks. Among the more significant of the changes are a war declaration system, a new mercenaries marketplace, and missiles with launchers to decimate enemy ships.

The full patch notes are pretty extensive if you want to dig into the nitty-gritty, but CCP has also provided a more general overview. The war declaration system lets you refine battles and set a surrender amount, while the new marketplace is a spot to hire on mercs. The update also brings streamlined kill reports, factional warfare for PVP training, a unified inventory and effects bar, along with updated graphics, UI adjustments, new modules, and more. When EVE Online expands, it certainly expands.
