The Wii software library is pretty much on life support right now. So, what will power the respirator? Gamecube, of course.

Nintendo has announced two new additions to the Wii library. Coming June 10th are Wii re-releases of two Gamecube classics: Mario Power Tennis and Pikmin 2. Best of all, they join the "Nintendo Selects" line, meaning they'll be available for $19.99 each.

Both "Nintendo Selects" will be enhanced with Wii Remote support, giving gamers a new way of playing these Gamecube classics. Pikmin 2 should also whet fans' appetites for the upcoming Pikmin for Wii U.

In addition to the two "Selects," Nintendo will also drop the price on two of its evergreen Wii titles. Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Donkey Kong Country Returns are dropping $20, to $29.99 each.

I thought of two things immediately. First was if Chris Remo would show up at midnight to buy this...second was if this would lower the price of Pikmin2 on Gamecube (I actually have it...but the idea of more people being able to play it is a good thing IMHO).

Maybe that's the idea, get Pimmin 2 into more hands so more people will be interested in the Wii U's Pikmin 3. All I want from Wii U is Zelda... PLEASE!!!!

Mario Power Tennis is not new to the Wii library, it is simply being added to the Nintendo Selects line as it was released on Wii in 2009.
