C&C Tiberium Alliances tanks similar to Warhammer 40K
Some Warhammer 40K fans have noticed that the tanks in C&C Tiberium Alliances are extremely similar to tanks from the tabletop series. EA is "looking into" the matter.
Update: With EA response to the issue.
Drawing inspiration from fellow properties is normal enough for sci-fi franchises, but some striking similarities are making some Warhammer 40K fans cry foul. The tanks in the upcoming game Command & Conquer Tiberium Alliances bear more than a passing resemblance to the classic tabletop series.
A pair of Reddit threads (via GameSpot) have pointed out the similarities between the tanks. The C&C Bombard Tank looks a lot like the Baneblade tank from Warhammer, and the Grinder Tank is extremely similar to the Ork Bonecrusha.
"Games Workshop and EA are aware of the IP issues around the artwork in question, which have now been resolved," an EA representative told GameSpot. "The artwork was internal EA concept art that was unintentionally released publicly. No Warhammer 40,000 tanks have ever made an appearance in Command and Conquer: Tiberium Alliances, and never will."
