Demon's Souls shutting down (really) at end of May
Demon's Souls servers will shut down at 11:59 PM PST on May 31, Atlus has announced.
The Demon's Souls servers are finally going to meet that great cloud network in the sky. Publisher Atlus has announced that the game servers will be shut down at 11:59 PM PST on May 31. For real this time.
Game Informer reports that to mark the occasion, Demon's Souls will have two World Tendency events based on fan votes in May -- one May 1-15, and the other May 16-31. The single-player portion of the game, of course, will remain unaffected, so you can continue to die horribly without the asynchronous messages.
"Thank you to the unparalleled passion and support of the Demon's Souls community throughout these last two and a half years," Atlus marketing VP Tim Pivnicny said in a statement. "The online adventure may end soon, but the memory of it—just like that of every boss strategy, every level floor plan, and hidden secret—lives on in the gamers for whom the game was so special."
The game's sequel, Dark Souls, is still going strong and has not announced plans to pull the plug on the servers. If you're still playing Demon's Souls and disappointed by this news, you might want to consider an upgrade sometime in the next month.

Someone tried to do that to me in 3-3 I think it is (man eater level) and got me once.. then he tried it again, I blocked him and nudged him off the edge with a Knight's Sword.. but it doesn't end there! He became my 3-4 boss but I had 2 blue phantoms with me that he didn't notice until too late :p
He was a sport about it, I imagine he was able to kill quite a few players on that level.

You really should play it before the servers go offline. The SP mode is fun--my wife played it because she hated getting invaded by Black Phantoms--but the MP features really pull you into the game. My first time through, I relied so much on reading and leaving messages, and studying bloodstains to find out what grizzly deaths I might avoid.

yeah, i like the depth and length of the world in dark souls, but man, the world in demon's souls is terrifying. It really feels like you're deep in enemy territory, and around every corner could be something that could absolutely tear you apart. 3-1 was the worst on that. those fucking mind flayers. The bells would creep me out and then OH GOD HE'S RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER.
YOU DIED
